About This Project

Amy Romano, MSN, CNM, has worked in the maternity care field as a nurse, midwife, research analyst, educator, and consumer advocate since 2001. From 2010-2013, she directed Childbirth Connection’s Transforming Maternity Care Partnership, a national multi-stakeholder initiative to improve maternity care quality and value in the United States, and consulted on the first national maternity care shared decision making initiative, pregnantMe. In 2013, Amy joined Maternity Neighborhood, an award-winning technology company focused on consumer engagement and data-driven improvement in maternity care. As Vice President of Care Model Innovation and Content at Maternity Neighborhood, Amy advises the products and strategy teams on trends and opportunities in the evolving healthcare landscape, cultivates and supports partnerships with innovative health systems and payers.

Amy is an active member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM). She served two terms as President of ACNM’s Connecticut Affiliate and serves on the Quality and Health Information Technology Sections, the Physiologic Birth Steering Committee, and the Nominating Committee. In 2012, she received ACNM’s prestigious Kitty Ernst Award.
